The community share offer and donations have raised nearly £0.5 million - an amazing achievement.
In 2018 our initial Bovey Paradiso Community Share Offer raised £464,100 in shares – including £100,000 from Big Society Capital – and of the rest, 90% has come from our community. Donations raised a further £28,919, making a total of £493,019.
The estimated cost of construction work on the heritage building is £170,000. Applications for grants to pay for this were successful and the work will be completed in early 2020.
Our task now is raising the remaining funding we need to build the cinema theatre and the atrium cafe, and to equip them. We are examining various options for this. We have made further grant applications totalling £382,000, and have identified other potential grant funding bodies who may support us. We have also discussed the possibility of a second share offer with the shareholders at the 2019 AGM.
