GREAT NEWS FOR INVESTORS

As well as the excitement of scheduling the ‘National Theatre Live’ shows in July and showing visitors the auditorium during Saturday’s Open Day, we received two fantastic pieces of news last week.

We’ve been awarded the Community Shares Standard Mark from the Community Shares Unit, which means that our share offer meets national standards of good practice. This is a gold standard awarded to community share offers based on an independent assessment. The framework ensures all information is clear and accessible and enables investors to feel confident that care and attention has been given to create a well-structured offer, crucially with both a strong business plan and strong governance. 

The Paradiso Board of Directors are all volunteers, passionate about creating a community-focused arts hub for Bovey Tracey and the surrounding areas. As you know, it’s been a long project so far requiring a lot of work and dedication, so this national recognition is a very welcome achievement. 

More good news. 

After looking at our detailed plans, HMRC has given 'advance assurance' that the purchase of shares meets the criteria for tax relief under the government's Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). This means investors can claim up to 30% income tax relief on EIS investments. 

Along with the award of the Standard Mark, HMRC's grant of advance assurance is another sign of national recognition of the quality of the share offer, bringing completion of Paradiso nearer.
