Commercial Director
This is a voluntary role that will lead on commercial matters, merchandising policy, and product marketing to meet the vision of Bovey Tracey Paradiso Arts Ltd.
Role description:
• Produce a merchandising policy that will meet the needs of the organisation
• Identify potential suppliers of merchandise that will complement the Arts programme
• Identify products that will reflect the visitor’s needs, interests, and price range.
• Identify local events suitable for the organisation to take part in or promote Bovey Paradiso
• Attend monthly management meetings with the other directors to update on progress of commercial matters
• Work closely with External Communication Director to promote merchandise available via the Bovey Paradiso website and the Gallery.
• Support other Directors reach out to business leaders, officials, and others to create new relationships for the organisation.
Art Director
This is a voluntary role that will lead and support the direction of the Arts programme for Bovey Paradiso. Primarily this role will focus on the activities associated with The Gallery @ Bovey Paradiso’s mission statement and aims until the other phases of the project are completed.
Arts events will need to be planned as work progresses on the building.
Role description:
• To advise on potential contributors to the Arts programme
• Identify audience needs and create community interest and support for the Arts programme.
• To review proposals for the exhibitions and arts events held at Bovey Paradiso to meet the vision of the organisation
• Attend monthly Board meetings with the other directors to update on progress of the Arts programme.
• Work closely with the External Communication Director to communicate arts related events and projects.
• With other Directors reach out to business leaders, officials, and others to create new relationships for the organisation.
Accounts Assistant
This is a voluntary role to support the duties of the Finance Director for Bovey Tracey Paradiso Arts Ltd. It is likely that you will need to dedicate a few hours per week to this role.
An ideal opportunity for someone who wants to gain some experience of bookkeeping for a charitable organisation or someone who wants to support a community project with the relevant skills required.
Skills required include:
• Basic bookkeeping
• Use of Quickbooks or other accounting package
• Use of Excel is essential
Duties
• Purchase invoice processing
• Passing invoices for payment
• Purchase ledger reconciliation
• Maintain the sales daybook from gallery records available from the Gallery Manager
• Liaise with the Gallery Manager to prepare monthly studio rental invoices and artists commission invoices
• Reconciliation of sales to bank and cash
IT Assistant
We are in need of an IT support volunteer to help with the support/maintenance/upgrade of our evolving IT systems. So, if this is your profession, or you’re a competent amateur, this may be of interest to you. We envisage that this role would very much be an ‘as and when’ activity, and for someone with the IT knowhow, on average probably a few hours per week at times which are convenient to you.
External Communications Assistant
If external comms is your profession, or you’re a competent amateur, this may be of interest to you. We envisage that this role would very much be an ‘as and when’ activity when press, mail shots and social media posts are needed. It is anticipated that for someone with social media knowhow and Mailchimp (or similar) experience the commitment would be, on average, a few hours per week.
