Take 4+1 - Jazz Quartet

Bovey Paradiso is delighted to bring Take 4 back to Bovey, this time with special guest Sam Massey (trumpet). Sam is a well-regarded trumpeter, composer and educator based in the South West of England, UK. He has worked alongside artists such as Clare Teal, Claire Mrtin OBE and Mike Westbrook OBE.     

Following 2 sell out events last year Take 4, an East Devon based Jazz quartet, will this time be performing at the Bovey Tracey Golf Centre with a new ensemble. 

Take 4 Jazz offer a fun and engaging performance of good time music and are returning to Bovey to support the Paradiso project. Delivering a highly accessible mix of swing, blues and jazz, expect some more tunes you know and some you sort of know but can't quite name! The quartet will be joined by a guest instrumentalist to add an extra flavour to the music!

'a small but enthusiastic audience treated to a veritable cornucopia of jazz styles over six decades by Take 4. From the familiar chords of the opening of Duke Ellington's "Take the A train" to the very appropriate dreamy tune of Gershwin's "Summertime", which closed the concert, we enjoyed 14 tunes from every era from the blues and gospel music to film and TV music.
