THE HEART OF THE COUNTRY - RICHARD THORN R.I. SWAc

For many years Richard has been showing work in the R.I. open exhibitions in London, winning two awards along the way. This year he was elected to membership of the institute - (Royal institute for painters in watercolour) winning a third award.

He is also a member of the Swac (South West Academy of applied arts) where he shows work in their numerous exhibitions throughout the year. 

Principally a watercolour painter the artist also paints in acrylics and mixed media.

This exhibition shows many of his watercolours depicting the landscapes and riverscapes around the south-west and moorland where he derives much of his subject matter.
