Thank you to our Shareholders

We have to begin with thanks to our shareholders. Bovey Paradiso Arts is a charitable Community Benefit Society and we are owned by our Members. Without them we simply would not be here! This project has always been rooted in community — in the belief that the arts should be accessible to everyone, and that beautiful things can grow when people come together with purpose. We have over 400 shareholders from our community here in Bovey Tracey and surrounding villages, plus further afield around the country. We are grateful to each and every one of you. 

Thank you to our Funders 

The essential restoration and refurbishment work on this historic building began in 2018 thanks to money raised by National Lottery players, awarded through the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). We’ve continued to receive generous support from The Headley Trust, The Foyle Foundation, The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, The Architectural Heritage Fund, The Bernard Sunley Foundation, The Community Ownership Fund, Coastal Recycling, Devon County Council Locality Fund, Teignbridge Arts Project, Greater Dartmoor LEAF, Viridor Credits, Valencia Communities Fund, The Tracey Almshouses Trust, The Bovey Town Trust and Bovey Tracey Town Council (CIL). Bovey Paradiso is run by a small but mighty board of volunteer Directors and we’d like to thank them all, past and present, for their commitment and dedication over the years.  

Thank you to former Directors Su Kaye, Ian Alexander, Stephen Willmore, David Alexander, James Glen, Ken Swan, Felicity King, Andrew Shadrake, and also our former Clerk Diane Wilmore. 

Tony Pearce was of course our founder who led the initiative with his wife Jeanette. Our auditorium is dedicated to him, and we will always value his creative energy and vision for our town.
