Break free from the constraints of "getting it right" and discover the expressive power of the human form. In this session, we move beyond anatomical precision to explore the figure as a landscape of line, weight, and emotion.
By distilling the body into its essential rhythms, you'll learn how to capture movement and presence without the need for literal representation. This workshop focuses on:
• Simplifying Form: Stripping away detail to find the core energy of a pose.
• Gestural Freedom: Using bold, intuitive marks to translate physical tension onto the canvas.
• Subjective Colour: Using palette choices to convey mood rather than skin tones.
• Balance & Space: Learning how to integrate the figure into an abstract environment.
Description: Each of our abstract workshops are stand-alone classes so don’t worry if you can’t attend every class or missed the first session. We will take you through the process of creating an abstract art painting and the processes involved. Along with inspiration and suggestions for further development and reading materials. Tea and coffee provided.
Aimed at: Beginner to intermediate level.
Materials: Materials are provided but you’re welcome to bring along anything you particularly want to use.
