Flautist, Composer and Educator - Mandy (aka The Kins) is a versatile flautist, composer and improviser with a strong background in performance, education, and ensemble work. She gained Grade 8 flute aged 18 and went on to achieve a First-Class Honours degree in Music from Canterbury Christ Church University, where she specialised in performance, alongside Jazz Studies, Music in Education, Music Through Time, and Music, Arts and Health. Her ensemble experience includes international tours with a big band as well as performing as part of a scratch orchestra, flute choir and a bossa nova group. She later completed a PGCE (Masters) through the Devon SCITT programme and has since led a Music Department in a secondary school academy for over a decade. In addition to her teaching, she has arranged and conducted performances for mixed-age choirs and recently expanded her own live performance work to include loop pedal performances with piano, voice, flute and kalimba alongside further performance collaboration work with 'Dreamadelica'.
